Perhaps the ultimate communications opportunity open to STV customers is to associate with the entire channel (on air, online or both) through the adoption of our hugely innovative station theming concept.
STV recently introduced Station Themeing where the channel supports various themes which are aligned with its obligations as a public service broadcaster. The most recent being “New Year, New You”, “The Royal Wedding” and the “STV Appeal 2011”. Where station themes are being introduced, there is an opportunity for you to be a party to this station theming by sponsoring the channel for a period of time. This can provide you, the advertiser, with maximum exposure. The channel sponsorship message is generally broadcast with the station identifiers where sponsors can create thematic links with the channel. Station identifiers are broadcast at the start and end of all commercial break junctions throughout the broadcasting day.
In this instance an advertiser can bring together a bespoke combination of sponsorship, promotions, competitions, events, advertising and ad funded programming to make a very real and highly impactful statement about their brand.
In 2008 & 2009, The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service sponsored our channel and as a result, STV turned the STV station identity red for 48 hours in December. This is traditionally the time of year when blood stocks are lowest through a combination of low supply (holidays get in the way of blood collection) and high demand (inclement weather and overindulgence can lead to an upsurge in the need for blood and blood related products). As a result of the promotional activity, according to the Scottish National Bloof Transfusion Service blood stocks were dramatically increased.
The Opportunity exists for you to be a part of our Station Theming and Channel Sponsorship concept where, together we can create, powerful ideas with potentially dramatic results.
